On the 7th at around 11:15 a.m., a report was received that patient A (female, in her 80s) on Heuksando Island, Sinan-gun, was experiencing decreased consciousness due to hypotension.
In response, the Coast Guard dispatched a patrol vessel, boarded patient A and her guardian, and quickly transported them via the coastal rescue boat of the police substation to Jindo Shimi Port.
Additionally, at around 5:25 p.m. on the same day, patient B (female, in her 90s), who was unable to move due to general weakness on Sinui-do Island, Sinan-gun, was urgently transported to the mainland by patrol vessel.
Both emergency patients transported with the help of the Coast Guard were reportedly moved to a hospital in Mokpo for treatment.
A representative of the Mokpo Coast Guard stated, “As the temperature difference between day and night is very large these days, we will maintain a state of readiness to respond immediately to emergencies involving elderly residents that may occur in island areas.”
