On the 8th, the Daegu Metropolitan Police Agency began promoting major policies such as the prevention of jeonse fraud and special crackdowns by utilizing 'ChatGPT' and 'virtual humans' developed in the private sector.
The 'ChatGPT' used this time is a chatbot AI service developed by the US company OpenAI that answers users' text questions. It surpassed 100 million users within two months of its release in December last year. The 'virtual human' model appearing in the video is a program that reads the input text aloud.
The Daegu Metropolitan Police Agency collected and reviewed text through keyword searches such as 'jeonse fraud prevention methods' on ChatGPT, then edited videos using a 'virtual human video production site' where the selected model reads the input text aloud.
The produced videos are being promoted both online and offline through police station SNS, online communities, and metaverse platforms.
A Daegu Metropolitan Police Agency official said, “We are promoting through a 3-minute video created by the Daegu Metropolitan Police Agency itself using ChatGPT on various SNS and communities. When the video plays, ChatGPT explains in detail about preventing jeonse fraud. We are also considering introducing ChatGPT promotion in areas such as eradicating malicious fraud, drug crimes, and illegal activities at construction sites in the future.”
