About 300 people, including public officials and local residents, participated in the event and planted 2,000 purple crape myrtle saplings, nurtured on Anjwa Island, around the Anjwa Art Island Floating Museum to promote the government's carbon neutrality efforts and foster local tourism resources.

The county is using this event as a starting point to accelerate the creation of economic trees, large trees, and specialized forests by planting camellias, Japanese cypress, and other species in 33 hectares of forest as part of this year's afforestation project.

Additionally, forest management will be promoted in 812 hectares of forest around residential areas and along main roads in tourist spots with heavy traffic to enhance the public and economic value of the forests by stimulating tree growth.

Governor Park Woo-ryang stated, “We will build seven exhibition halls for Yanagi Yukinori’s works and a glass greenhouse at the Floating Museum on Anjwa Island, and create a 120,000㎡ themed garden by planting plum trees, Chinese fringe trees, Japanese cornel, camellias, and more. We plan to develop it as a representative tourist destination of Shinan-gun alongside the world-renowned Banwol and Bakji Islands Purple Islands.”
