The Ministry of Gender Equality and Family will hold the ‘Out-of-School Youth Support Promotion Content Contest’ from the 9th of this month to May 8th.

This contest, now in its second year, was organized to promote the support services for out-of-school youth provided by the Out-of-School Youth Support Centers (Kkumdeulim) and to spread positive awareness about out-of-school youth.

The 221 Out-of-School Youth Support Centers nationwide help young individuals grow into healthy members of society through tailored support in education, career, independence, and health by counseling each youth’s needs and concerns.

The contest is open to not only out-of-school youth but also the general public, and it will be held in four categories: △ photography/drawing △ general videos △ short-form videos △ and nickname proposals.

The contest themes include △ promoting the out-of-school youth support projects currently implemented at the nationwide Out-of-School Youth Support Centers △ messages supporting and improving the rights of out-of-school youth △ and proposing nicknames that represent the confident image of out-of-school youth who set and achieve their dreams.

Detailed information about participating in the contest can be found on the Out-of-School Youth Support Center website (www.kdream.or.kr), and submissions can be sent via email to the Korea Youth Counseling and Welfare Institute at sself@kyci.or.kr.

Submitted works will be evaluated by internal and external experts, and seven winners will be selected to receive awards including the Minister of Gender Equality and Family Award, the Korea Youth Counseling and Welfare Institute Director Award, and prize money.

Furthermore, the outstanding works selected in the contest will be produced into various promotional materials to effectively publicize the out-of-school youth support projects, and will be promoted through multiple media channels to help more out-of-school youth access support services.

Kim Gwonyoung, Youth Policy Officer at the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, explained, “The Ministry will strengthen promotion so that out-of-school youth can easily access support services and will strive to spread positive awareness in society about out-of-school youth who are working hard to achieve their dreams.”
