LH Launches Research Project for Complex Development Around Namyangju Jinjeop 2 Station Area

Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) announced on the 8th that it will officially begin the "Namyangju Jinjeop 2 Station Area Special Planning Zone Commercialization Plan Study" to develop the area around Pungyang Station, which is scheduled to be established within the Namyangju Jinjeop 2 Public Housing District, into a complex space for residents.


Currently, the Namyangju Jinjeop 2 District is a public housing district designated in July 2018, where 10,198 housing units are being supplied. Pungyang Station on the Jinjeop Line, an extension of Subway Line 4, is scheduled to open. The metropolitan railway connecting Seoul Gangdong, Hanam, and Namyangju, which links to Subway Line 9, is also being extended to the Namyangju Jinjeop 2 District, making Pungyang Station a double station area.

Through this study, LH will establish a development concept and basic design direction to create a space around Pungyang Station that integrates residential, commercial, business, and transfer functions, allowing local residents to communicate and interact.


After conducting the study until January next year, the project will officially begin through a special planning zone business operator public contest. The study will also prepare guidelines for the special planning zone business operator contest and design guidelines by reviewing the contest area and methods.


Shin Kyung-cheol, Director of the Land and Urban Development Headquarters at LH, said, "Through this study, we will actively strive to make Namyangju Jinjeop 2 a livable city by leveraging the advantage of the double station area and preparing creative development plans that harmonize the roles of the public and private sectors."
