Hong Nampyo, Changwon Special Mayor, "I Will Listen to All Your Voices"

Dialogue with Citizens of Masanhwoin-gu ... Completion of Tour in 5 Districts

On the afternoon of the 7th, Hong Nampyo, Mayor of Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam, concluded the official first tour of the 8th term by holding a dialogue with citizens at the Olympic Memorial Hall in Masanhwoe-gu.

Mayor Hong, Kim Hwayoung, Head of Masanhwoe-gu Office, and heads of departments were present to respond to the voices of the citizens, and about 15 provincial and city council members also participated.

As the dialogue with citizens of Masanhwoe-gu was the last of the five regional citizen dialogues, around 300 citizens visited.

Changwon Special City Mayor Hong Nampyo is having a dialogue with citizens of Masanhwoewon District on the 7th.

The event began with a performance by the Changwon City Choir. Before the main event, Mayor Hong took the stage to announce the administrative direction regarding ‘New Changes and Challenges Toward the Next 50 Years of Changwon’s Future.’

He gave a detailed explanation tailored to the citizens’ perspective on five major strategies and over 30 tasks: ▲Strengthening the foundation for Changwon’s economic re-leap ▲A warm Changwon that embraces the precious lives of its citizens ▲Creating urban dignity befitting Changwon’s status ▲Creating future-oriented urban spaces ▲Building a vibrant city that attracts youth.

He explained major current projects in Masanhwoe-gu, including ▲Creation of a self-sufficient complex administrative town ▲Improvement of the Seomasan IC entrance and exit road structure ▲Construction of the new Masanhwoe-gu Office building, and shared with citizens 27 tasks including key projects by neighborhood and region such as ▲Construction of Jungni public parking tower ▲Small stream maintenance ▲Creation of public parking lot in Hoewon 1-dong ▲Commencement of road alignment improvement work at Majaegogae.

The dialogue with citizens was directly chaired by Mayor Hong, and questions were taken in turn by district to ensure smooth progress. Various requests and suggestions were made, including ‘creation of public parking lots,’ ‘construction of walking trails,’ and ‘installation of resident convenience facilities.’

Mayor Hong said, “By visiting each of the five regions and meeting citizens directly, I have come to understand well what the citizens want. I will listen carefully to your voices and do my utmost to lay the foundation for the city to grow innovatively.”
