AWS "We Will Train Korean Cloud Talent"... Launch of 'Restart'

AWS "We Will Train Korean Cloud Talent"... Launch of 'Restart' Ham Ki-ho, CEO of AWS Korea, is introducing the 'AWS Restart' program on the 7th.

Amazon Web Services (hereinafter AWS) is providing free training for job seekers in South Korea.

AWS announced on the 7th that it will launch 'AWS Restart.' AWS Restart is a program operating in more than 180 cities across 60 countries worldwide. Participants receive free skills development and job training to prepare for a career in cloud computing.

AWS Restart is offered in collaboration with Megazone Cloud. Domestic companies such as Shinhan DS and Channel Corporation will provide interview opportunities to program graduates. Through a 12-week training program, Megazone Cloud helps unemployed and job-seeking individuals acquire cloud computing skills and connect with hiring opportunities at Korean companies.

Participants without cloud technology skills will learn basic AWS cloud technologies and how to build skills in Linux, Python, networking, security, and relational databases through scenario-based exercises, labs, and classes. AWS supports participants in preparing for and covering the costs of the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner (CCP) exam.

Individuals with some IT experience but lacking cloud skills can apply for the new track of the AWS Restart program, AWS Restart Associate. This track helps IT professionals who are unemployed or seeking jobs update their skills and transition to mid-level cloud careers. The two-month learning course includes strategic human interaction through live expert sessions, office hours, and webinars provided by AWS.

A Gallup study commissioned by AWS titled ‘Asia Pacific Digital Skills Research: Economic Benefits of Skilled Workforce’ found that 49% of Korean organizations face difficulties in hiring digital talent. AWS expects this training support program to reduce the challenges companies face in recruiting digital talent. Additionally, job seekers without prior IT skills will have opportunities to enter IT-related fields such as cloud computing.

Ham Ki-ho, CEO of AWS Korea, said, “AWS Restart enables new talent to enter the labor market, allowing individuals to start successful cloud careers and organizations to enhance competitiveness through in-demand talent, leading to thriving and growing communities. Through the launch of the AWS Restart program in Korea, AWS plans to further strengthen support for Korea’s digital innovation journey.”
