[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Jae-hee] Hana Financial Group has recommended Professors Won Suk-yeon and Lee Jun-seo as new outside director candidates.
According to the financial sector on the 6th, Hana Financial Group held a nomination committee meeting for outside directors and audit committee candidates and recommended eight outside director candidates.
Among the eight, the new candidates are Professor Won Suk-yeon of Ewha Womans University’s Department of Public Administration and Professor Lee Jun-seo of Dongguk University’s Department of Business Administration.
Professor Won is an expert in ESG (Environmental, Social Responsibility, and Corporate Governance Improvement).
Professor Won has served as a member of the Gender Equality Policy Committee at the Supreme Prosecutors' Office, a civilian member of the Fiscal Operation Strategy Committee at the Ministry of Economy and Finance, a non-executive director at the Korea Exchange, and chairman of the Regional Reinvestment Evaluation Committee at the Financial Supervisory Service and Financial Services Commission.
Professor Lee is a finance expert who has served as a non-executive member of the Securities and Futures Commission at the Financial Services Commission, a member of the Investment Policy Committee for Fund Management at the National Pension Service, and a member of the Subcommittee on Fund Support at the Public Fund Management Committee of the Financial Services Commission.
According to Hana Financial, among the existing outside directors, Kim Hong-jin, Yang Dong-hoon, Heo Yoon, Lee Jung-won, Park Dong-moon, and Lee Kang-won have been recommended as candidates for reappointment.
The candidates are expected to be appointed as outside directors following the resolution at the regular shareholders' meeting to be held later this month.
