Kim Dong-yeon, Governor of Gyeonggi Province, promised to continue cooperation beyond factional politics, focusing solely on the livelihood of the people and the future, with the 31 cities and counties within the province.
On the 6th, Kim posted on his social network service (SNS) an article titled "Policy Cooperation Handshake with 31 Cities and Counties," stating, "At the July meeting last year with the mayors and county heads of the 31 cities and counties in Gyeonggi Province, I mentioned that we would hold a 'Policy Cooperation Committee.' Finally, today, we have taken the first step."
He continued, "The situation in South Korea is difficult. Not only the economic situation but also the political situation is bleak. At times like this, cooperation that transcends factions and boundaries is necessary," and added, "Putting the livelihood of the people first! Gyeonggi Province was different," praising the province's approach.
In particular, he said, "We joined forces on the extension of Line 3 policy agreement, joint proposal for early construction of Dongin Line, expansion of Gogi Bridge, and solving the semiconductor industrial water supply issue," and added, "Focusing only on 'livelihood' and 'future,' we will move forward through communication and cooperation with the 31 cities and counties."
Furthermore, he emphasized, "We will make Gyeonggi Province's cooperation a model to lead the change of South Korea."
