To this end, the city plans to divide the schedule as follows: from March to May, visit Jeollanam-do and relevant central government departments to persuade them; from June to August, focus on explaining the project rationale to the Ministry of Economy and Finance to accelerate inclusion in the government budget; and from September to November, conduct activities to increase the budget in the National Assembly for projects not reflected in the government budget.

To secure national funds, the city has distributed a 2024 national fund securing activity manual, which includes the government budget formulation flow, budget review response, and pre-implementation procedures, as well as a booklet listing all unit projects from 16 government ministries, to all employees to enhance their understanding of securing national funds and to utilize it for discovering government budget projects.

A Suncheon City official stated, “Since national fund projects have a significant ripple effect on the local economy, it is essential to anticipate government trends in advance and concentrate efforts on securing national funds to ensure that the projects planned for next year proceed without any setbacks.”

Meanwhile, Suncheon City will continuously monitor the progress of national treasury securing projects and plans to hold a progress report meeting in March.
