Coupang announced on the 6th that it has obtained the international standard safety and health management system (ISO 45001) certification for all its delivery business sites.
ISO 45001 is the highest level international certification in the field of safety and health management established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). Only companies that have undergone audits and evaluations by professional certification bodies regarding overall safety and health matters within their workplaces can receive this certification.
Coupang acquired ISO 45001 through the global certification body DNV Business Assurance Korea. At the certificate awarding ceremony held on the 3rd at Coupang's Jamsil headquarters, attendees included Yoo In-jong, Vice President of Coupang's Safety and Health Division, and Lee So-young, CEO of DNV Business Assurance Korea, among other officials.
Coupang stated, "We have been committed to establishing safety and health policies and goals, conducting risk assessments, and preparing emergency manuals in accordance with the requirements of the ISO 45001 safety and health management system," and explained, "we have also established a management system to efficiently prevent industrial accidents that may occur at delivery business sites and to create a safe working environment for employees."
In October of last year, Coupang's subsidiaries Coupang Fulfillment Service and Coupang Eats Service received the same certification. With Coupang receiving the certificate on this day, a total of three companies including its subsidiaries have obtained ISO 45001 certification.
