Daejeon City announced on the 6th that it will partially support employment and industrial accident insurance premiums for local single-person micro-business owners.
The target beneficiaries are single-person micro-business owners with annual sales of 300 million KRW or less who newly enrolled in employment and industrial accident insurance after January 1st.
The city will support (refund) 30% of the employment insurance premiums and 50% of the industrial accident insurance premiums paid by the beneficiaries for up to three years.
Applications for support are accepted in the last month of each quarter (March, June, September, December), and the application period for the first quarter is until the 31st of this month. Eligible applicants can check the announcement on the city’s small and medium business support portal, DaejeonBiz, and apply via fax or email.
In particular, the city will greatly simplify the application and payment procedures this year to increase the enrollment rate of single-person micro-business owners in employment and industrial accident insurance.
Han Jong-tak, head of the Small Business Policy Division of the city, said, “We will strengthen support for single-person micro-business owners and strive to make the social safety net for self-employed individuals more robust.”
