Daikin Orchid Ladies Tournament FR 1 Under Par
Shin Ji-ae delivered a victory message at the Japan season opener.
On the 5th, Shin Ji-ae shot a 1-under-par 71 in the final 4th round of the Daikin Orchid Ladies Tournament (total prize money 120 million yen) held at Ryukyu Golf Club in Okinawa, Japan (par 72, 6,560 yards), securing a 3-stroke victory (10-under-par 278). This marks her 29th JLPGA Tour win, her first in 1 year and 8 months since the Daitogentagu Ladies in July 2021. The winner's prize money was 21.6 million yen (approximately 200 million KRW).
Starting with a 2-stroke lead, Shin Ji-ae made 3 birdies and 2 bogeys. Although she started shakily with bogeys on holes 1 and 6, she recovered all lost strokes with 'stepping stone birdies' on holes 7 and 9. She then steadily made pars over the next 8 holes and celebrated her victory with a birdie on the final 18th hole (par 5). Having also won the Victoria Open on the WPGA Tour in Australia this past February, Shin Ji-ae achieved her 63rd professional win.
Momoko Ueda and Mone Inami (both from Japan) tied for 2nd place (7-under-par 281). Saiki Fujita finished 4th (6-under-par 282), and Ai Suzuki (both from Japan) tied for 6th place (4-under-par 284). From Korea, Jeon Mi-jeong finished tied for 9th (3-under-par 285), and Lee Ha-na ended the tournament tied for 24th (even par 288).
