Dog Owner "Did It to Attract Attention Nearby"
Signed Ownership Relinquishment and Scheduled for Overseas Adoption
A dog was rescued with its entire body shaved, a cubic attached to its forehead, and letters written on its body with glitter glue and markers.
On the 4th, the animal rights organization CARE revealed on social media (SNS) the image of a dog tied to a utility pole in front of a restaurant near a university area in Joyoung-dong, Gyeongsan-si, Gyeongbuk, around 7 p.m. the previous day.
In the photo, a large cubic was attached to the center of the dog's forehead, and letters and patterns were drawn on various parts of its body using glitter glue and markers.

The informant said, "The young dog was trembling with all its fur shaved off, with a large bead on its face and tattoos and cubics embedded on its body," adding, "It was so heartbreaking that I couldn't just pass by."
In response, CARE posted a message asking, "If anyone knows the residence of the person who carries this dog around, please report it," and following the post, people who visited the scene shared updates in the comments.
Fortunately, the dog was safely rescued just one day after the post was made. The dog's name, confirmed by the owner, was Boksuni (Kkangpae).
A watchdog activist who met the owner obtained a letter of relinquishment of ownership from them.
The owner initially claimed, "It was to prevent loss," but later confessed, "I attached cubics and such on the dog's body to attract attention from those around me." The owner is also reported to have shamelessly asked, "Isn't it pretty?" which angered many netizens.
The drawings on Boksuni's body were not actual tattoos but were drawn with a thick marker, so they had to be scrubbed off vigorously with a scrubbing pad.
Later, CARE posted a new update about Boksuni's situation after the rescue. CARE stated, "Boksuni, who used to back away whenever she saw her abuser, no longer has to suffer any more bullying," and added, "We will take good care of Boksuni, conduct health checkups and treatment, and then find a good family overseas to adopt her."
