Gumi-si to Host This Year's New Year Concert... 'Forte di Quattro & Sonya' Spring Concert

Gumi City (Mayor Kim Jang-ho) will welcome the warm spring by hosting the “2023 Gumi New Year Concert ‘Forte di Quattro & Sonya Concert’” at the Gumi Culture and Arts Center Grand Performance Hall on March 25th at 5 PM.

This New Year Concert will feature a high-quality performance by the Pops Orchestra, inviting Forte di Quattro, the winner of Phantom Singer, and Sonya, one of Korea’s leading musical actresses, to offer a healing time with their exquisite honeyed voices.

‘Forte di Quattro’ is the inaugural winning team of JTBC’s audition program ‘Phantom Singer,’ which selects a crossover male quartet. The team consists of musical actor Ko Hoon-jung, tenor Kim Hyun-soo, bass Son Tae-jin, and singer Lee Byeo-ri.

Upon formation, they released their first album and digital tracks in the first half of 2017 through the classical music label DECCA Records, followed by their second album ‘Classica,’ mini-album ‘Colors,’ third album ‘Harmonia,’ and fourth album ‘Metaphonic.’

True to the meaning of their team name ‘Forte di Quattro,’ which signifies ‘the power of four’ and ‘the strength of a quartet,’ they have sold out every concert, pioneering their unique crossover genre through diverse attempts.

‘Sonya’ is a leading Korean musical actress and singer who debuted as a singer in May 1995 and made her musical debut in July 1997 by being cast in the musical ‘Fame.’

She solidified her position as a musical actress by appearing in major musicals such as ‘Jack the Ripper,’ ‘Hero,’ ‘Aida,’ ‘Maria Maria,’ and ‘Jekyll & Hyde.’ She has received numerous awards, including the Best New Actress Award at the 10th Musical Awards in 2004 and the Best Female Award in the Musical category at the 23rd Korea Culture and Entertainment Awards in 2015, establishing herself as a representative musical actress in Korea.

At the ‘2023 Gumi New Year Concert,’ Forte di Quattro will perform their signature songs ‘Il Libro Dell'Amore,’ ‘Notte Stellata,’ and ‘Bisang (Flight),’ along with representative numbers from musicals featuring Sonya such as ‘Fame’ and ‘Someone Like You.’

Yoon Hee-seon, Director of the Culture and Arts Center, said, “Through this performance, like the fresh spring sunshine, we hope that the vitality of spring will bloom in the hearts of citizens just as sprouts and flowers do, providing a time of healing.”

Ticket prices for this performance are 70,000 KRW for R seats, 50,000 KRW for S seats, and 30,000 KRW for A seats, available for purchase on Interpark Ticket. Gumi citizens and employees of Gumi city companies can purchase tickets at a 20% discounted price.
