AceBiome Announces Entry into Joint Health Market with New Product Featuring Advanced Materials

AceBiome, a microbiome specialist company, has entered the joint health market with a new product applying differentiated new materials. The initiative started from concerns about health problems caused by being overweight.

The joint health market is a rapidly growing sector. In fact, arthritis is the second most concerning disease for Koreans after cancer. According to data from the Health Insurance Review & Assessment Service, the number of degenerative arthritis patients in Korea reached 2.89 million in 2021, an increase of 300,000 over six years.

Accordingly, the functional health food market related to joint and bone health grew sharply from 96.6 billion KRW in 2020 to 177.6 billion KRW in 2021, an 84% increase in just one year. This year, the market is expected to reach 300 billion KRW, showing a steep growth trend. In fact, among the 35 functional ingredients recognized by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety as functional materials for health foods in 2022, joint health accounted for the largest number with 8 cases, proving the market enthusiasm for joint health.

Reflecting these concerns, AceBiome is also launching a new functional food product that can help joint health, officially entering the joint health market. In particular, the new product to be released this year is characterized by scientifically blending ParActin®, an individually recognized new material that can help joint health. ParActin is a functional ingredient extracted from the natural material ‘Chunsimryeon,’ known for its excellent anti-inflammatory effects.
