A total of 23 street stalls have been maintained... Newly emerged or operator-changed stalls will continue to be removed
Dongdaemun-gu (District Mayor Lee Pil-hyung) conducted maintenance activities targeting 4 street stalls in the Wangsanno and Gosanro areas on the night of the 2nd.
The district conducted a street stall survey in December last year to accurately identify the current status of street stalls, and based on the results, began full-scale maintenance activities.
This maintenance, the sixth this year, targeted 2 long-abandoned street stalls and 2 stalls illegally occupying the road.
Until February this year, the district carried out removal work on 13 anonymous street stalls with unidentified operators, 1 newly emerged stall, 2 illegal stalls, and 3 street stalls whose road occupancy permits were canceled.
Including this maintenance activity, a total of 23 street stalls have been removed to date.
Additionally, based on the street stall survey results, the district plans to continue maintenance on newly emerged or operator-changed street stalls.
Lee Pil-hyung, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, stated, “Through continuous maintenance of illegal street stalls that infringe on pedestrian rights and harm the city’s aesthetics, we will keep our promise to the residents to make the Cheongnyangni area a street where people want to walk.”
