The 'Public Conflict Management Deliberation Committee' was established last year to prevent conflicts that arise during the process of establishing public policies in advance and to promote amicable resolution when conflicts occur.

The committee consists of 14 experts from various fields, including city council members, conflict mediation specialists, legal professionals, media representatives, and civic groups, all of whom have extensive knowledge and experience in public conflict management. The term of office is two years.

At the meeting, the committee deliberated and resolved the '2023 Yeosu City Comprehensive Plan for Public Conflict Management,' diagnosed the level of public conflict in major policy projects, and decided to provide tailored conflict mediation support.

Chairman Kim Jong-gi said, "In modern society, where the interests of members are very complex, public conflicts deepen and are often difficult to resolve for a long time," adding, "I hope the committee will become a breakthrough for resolving regional conflicts."
