Gyeongbuk Office of Education Announces Recruitment of 200 Public Officials This Year

On the 3rd, the Gyeongbuk Office of Education announced the '2023 Local Government Employee New Appointment Examination Implementation Plan' on its website, recruiting about 200 public officials.


The Gyeongbuk Office of Education plans to select 200 candidates in the local government employee appointment exams, which will be conducted in two rounds this year: the 1st and 2nd exams.


Among the 200 positions, 182 are open competitive positions, with recruitment by job series as follows: 119 in Educational Administration, 16 in Educational Administration (Disabled), 4 in Educational Administration (Low-income), 11 in Educational Administration (Ulleung), 12 in Computer Science, 6 in Librarian, 2 in Cooking, 2 in Cooking (Veterans Affairs), 2 in Cooking (Ulleung), and 8 in Records Research.

The career competitive positions total 18, including 2 in Cooking, 5 in Driving, 2 in Driving (Veterans Affairs), 3 in Driving (Bonghwa, Uljin, Ulleung), and technical high school separate recruitment includes 2 in Facilities (Architecture), 2 in Engineering (General Machinery), and 2 in Engineering (General Electricity).


The Gyeongbuk Office of Education plans to expand public service appointment opportunities for socially disadvantaged groups such as the disabled and low-income individuals by hiring 16 disabled persons (8%), which is higher than the legally mandated employment rate of 3.6%, and 4 low-income individuals (2%).


In particular, to address issues arising from the placement of new hires, promoted employees, and disciplined personnel due to a lack of public officials wishing to be transferred, starting this year, recruitment will be divided by the intended work regions (Ulleung, Uljin, Bonghwa), which is expected to resolve administrative inefficiencies caused by frequent personnel transfers and local complaints.


Applicants can only apply for one region under the regional recruitment system, and transfers to other city or county regions will be restricted for five years after appointment.


The exams will be held in two sessions, with the 1st appointment exam on June 10 (application period from April 10 to April 14) and the 2nd appointment exam on October 28 (application period from August 21 to August 25), and applications can only be submitted online.
