The Central Disease Control Headquarters reported that as of midnight on the 3rd, there were 10,408 new confirmed COVID-19 cases, bringing the total to 30,543,981.
The number of new cases increased by 2,847 compared to the previous day (7,561) and by 357 compared to a week ago on the 24th of last month (10,051). This marks the first increase in weekly cases in 35 days since January 27. However, the weekly average daily cases remain below 10,000 for the sixth consecutive day at 9,196 as of this date.
Among the new cases, 20 were imported from overseas.
The number of critically ill patients currently hospitalized increased by 6 to 135 compared to the previous day. The number of critically ill patients has remained in the 100s for 12 consecutive days.
There were 11 new COVID-19 related deaths, bringing the total death toll to 34,014.
