Ahn Cheol-soo: "Yoon-An-Yeon-Dae Remarks Did Not Involve the Presidential Office"

"Party Members, Hearts Soften Over Yoon Seok-yeol and Lee Jun-seok Conflict"
"Na Kyung-won Looks Bad When Not Taking Photos"

Ahn Cheol-soo, the People Power Party's presidential candidate, clarified regarding his statement that the 'Yoon-Ahn (Yoon Seok-yeol - Ahn Cheol-soo) alliance is historic' and the Blue House's remark to "not drag us into it," saying, "I did not drag them in."

On the 3rd, Ahn said on CBS's 'Kim Hyun-jung's News Show,' "I understand that the story came up while explaining that photo, not that I dragged them in, and I did not explain it myself," he said.

Ahn said, "At that time (unification), I was on the same side as the other candidate, so that story came up yesterday," adding, "Now that he is the president, I would never dream of being on the same level," bowing his body. March 3rd is also the day one year ago when Ahn, then the conservative presidential candidate, and Yoon Seok-yeol declared their unification.

He recently caused a stir by claiming on his social media (SNS) that "the Blue House, the emergency committee, and the election committee are all unfair." There are also evaluations that he has now openly confronted the Blue House. Ahn said, "I think it is now time to speak, so I am currently serializing my thoughts every day based on what I have thought while going through the party convention."

Regarding Lee Jin-bok, the senior secretary for political affairs, saying to Ahn on the 8th of last month, "If you say nothing, nothing will happen," Ahn said, "That was actually a remark that would have been better not to make at that time," adding, "Party members were deeply hurt due to conflicts between the former leader and the president, and the Democratic Party's attacks were very fierce, so it was judged that internal strife in such a situation would not be desirable."

However, he now assesses that party members have recovered from the conflict situation between President Yoon Seok-yeol and former leader Lee Jun-seok. Ahn said, "Now, party members have somewhat relaxed their feelings about the various conflicts between the president and the former party leader," adding, "And the most important thing for our party is diversity and inclusiveness."

Regarding former lawmaker Na Kyung-won, who gave up running and endorsed candidate Kim Ki-hyun, Ahn said, "I wonder if there is a need to forcibly pull her that far," adding, "(When she did not take the photo) her expression really did not look good." He also predicted that supporters of candidates Hwang Kyo-ahn and Chun Ha-ram would vote for him in the runoff. He said, "Candidate Kim has no synergy, but rather, I am confident that supporters of candidate Chun Ha-ram for reform and candidate Hwang Kyo-ahn for morality will choose me."
