Mutual Visits to Participate in Local History and Culture Programs
The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 3rd that it will promote the 2023 Youth History and Culture Exchange Project starting in May.
The Youth History and Culture Exchange Project is a program where youths from Seoul and friendly exchange cooperation local governments visit each other's regions to experience the history and culture of each area, thereby fostering a broad understanding and perspective of various cultures and traditions.
To this end, Seoul is recruiting organizations to operate the Youth History and Culture Exchange Project until the 9th of this month. Selected organizations will collaborate with one of the exchange local governments to establish a project plan including exchange schedules and programs, and will recruit participating youths at each operating organization after May.
Applicants for operating organizations must be non-profit organizations located in Seoul that primarily focus on youth projects or have youth-related project experience within the past three years. Applications can be submitted in person or by mail to the Youth Policy Division of Seoul City Hall from the 6th to the 9th.
Lee Hoe-seung, Director of Lifelong Education at Seoul Metropolitan Government, said, “Youth experiential activities have greatly decreased over the past three years due to COVID-19,” adding, “We hope this exchange project will provide youths with an opportunity to step out of their daily lives and broaden their horizons by experiencing the history and culture of unfamiliar regions.”
