Seongnam City Provides Fire Extinguishers and Disaster Equipment to 1,400 Vulnerable Households Seongnam City Hall Panorama

Seongnam City in Gyeonggi Province will carry out a 'Disaster Prevention Facility Support Project' in the fire and electrical sectors targeting 1,400 disaster-vulnerable households from April to November.

Seongnam City will provide fire safety equipment such as residential fire extinguishers and fire detectors to 1,100 households, and conduct electrical safety inspections including outlets and wire insulation conditions for 300 households.

The city will invest 70 million won from the disaster management fund for this purpose.

The eligible recipients include National Basic Livelihood Security recipients, low-income households, multicultural families, single-parent families, households headed by youth aged 9 to 24, and elderly living alone aged 65 or older, all residing in Seongnam City.

Applicants wishing to receive support must submit proof of eligibility and an application form selecting the desired field(s) of fire or electrical support to their local administrative welfare center by the 17th of this month.

It is possible to apply for both fields simultaneously.

A city official stated, "This support project is being promoted for vulnerable groups to prevent exposure to disasters such as electrical short circuits and fire risks due to economic difficulties," adding, "We will create an environment where citizens can live safely without concerns about safety accidents."
