Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, is recruiting participants for the Life N Restart Learning Center courses to support retirees starting anew through retirement and reemployment, career-interrupted women, and working professionals pursuing their dreams.
On the 2nd, Nam-gu announced, “To provide opportunities for leisure activities and career exploration after retirement, the first half of the year’s Life N Restart Learning Center program will offer unique curricula such as senior model walking experience, organizing and storage certification acquisition, becoming an emoticon artist, and wise retirement preparation.”
This year, the Life N Restart Learning Center will operate at Nam-gu Lifelong Learning Center on weekday evenings and weekends to expand participation among working professionals and those nearing retirement.
In particular, to provide practical help for future social activity participation, the program focuses on vocational skill development courses, presenting a total of six courses: three professional certification courses, two entrepreneurship and reemployment courses, and one retirement planning and consulting course.
First, four courses will be held in the first half of the year.
The “Wise Retirement Preparation” course is designed for those preparing for retirement and will be held three times every Saturday from March 11 to 25. The recruitment quota is 15 people, and registration is currently on a first-come, first-served basis.
The reemployment course “Confidence Up! Senior Model” will be conducted 10 times every Tuesday from 6:30 PM for two hours, from March 14 to May 16.
Participants will learn about the history of models, runway walking, poses and turn movements, profile shooting, and practical fashion show experience, and are scheduled to appear on the stage of the Lifelong Learning Festival in October.
Recruitment of 15 participants began on February 28 and is on a first-come, first-served basis.
The “Innovative Organizing and Storage Certification Acquisition” course, held from April 1 to June 3, is a course to obtain a level 2 certification.
Recruitment of 15 participants starts on March 20, and the course is divided into 10 sessions every Saturday, teaching customized storage methods for kitchens, bedding, clothing, studies, dressing tables, refrigerators, balconies, and more.
If more than 10 participants obtain the level 2 certification, there is expected to be an opportunity to pursue level 1 certification in the second half of this year.
“Becoming an Emoticon Artist” is a course for entrepreneurship and reemployment.
From May 2 to June 22, 16 sessions will be held twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays, covering character application creation methods and keyframe animation functions.
Recruitment starts on April 18, with a quota of 15 participants on a first-come, first-served basis.
Additionally, all four courses are free of charge, and applications can be submitted via the Nam-gu Culture and Education Event app or by phone through the Nam-gu Office Education and Sports Department.
