Chairman Jae-kwan Jeong of the Military Mutual Aid Association said, “We extend our deepest condolences to the people of T?rkiye and Syria who lost their families and homes in an unprecedented earthquake,” adding, “Especially T?rkiye holds a special place for us as a brotherly nation that has dedicated itself to our country’s freedom and peace. We hope this contribution will help the people of T?rkiye return to their normal daily lives, even if just a little.”

Additionally, the Military Mutual Aid Association delivered consolation money of 5 million KRW each to the Special Warfare Command and the Medical Command for the soldiers who devoted themselves at the earthquake disaster site in T?rkiye.

Search and rescue personnel from the Army Special Warfare Command and medical personnel from the Medical Command were deployed to the earthquake disaster site in T?rkiye as part of the Republic of Korea Disaster Relief Team (KDRT). These elite soldiers, capable of performing all-weather missions in extreme environments, reportedly rescued eight survivors during this search operation.

The Military Mutual Aid Association is conducting various social responsibility activities as part of its ‘ESG-Ethical Management.’ It offers consolation to national veterans and war veterans, volunteers at the National Cemetery, and carries out volunteer activities such as sharing meals and briquettes with love. Last year, it also provided consolation money to soldiers who devoted themselves to the public during national disaster situations, including COVID-19 medical support and recovery operations from Typhoon Hinnamnor.
