The Daejeon City Civil Affairs Judicial Police announced on the 2nd that they will focus on cracking down for two months starting this month on unqualified real estate brokerage workers, illegal business operations of restaurants near recreational areas and public hygiene establishments, and violations at dust-generating business sites.
The crackdown will be conducted by dividing into Investigation Teams 1 to 3. Team 1 will conduct a full investigation of disqualifications among real estate brokerage workers and impose administrative measures on unqualified individuals to prevent illegal real estate brokerage activities by unlicensed persons in advance.
Additionally, to prevent food poisoning at restaurants in recreational areas during spring and to block illegal business activities, they will check whether groundwater quality inspections are conducted, whether expired products are stored or used, and whether there are unreported expansions of business premises such as changes in business area.
Team 2 will inspect unreported or unlicensed operations of public hygiene establishments, similar medical practices such as the use of medical devices and pharmaceuticals by beauty service providers, and compliance with hygiene management standards by public hygiene operators. Team 3 plans to review whether dust-generating businesses during spring have complied with dust generation business reporting, installed dust suppression facilities, and are operating them properly.
Earlier, the city’s Civil Affairs Judicial Police conducted crackdowns on civil infringement offenders in the fields of youth, livestock products, and environment during January and February, detecting a total of 20 cases which resulted in prosecutions and administrative measures.
In particular, in early last month, they conducted a joint crackdown with the Daejeon Police Agency and autonomous districts on socially problematic “room cafes,” uncovering six violations of the Youth Protection Act and Food Sanitation Act, including failure to prevent youth entry and verify identity, and failure to display business registration certificates.
Yang Seung-chan, Director of the City’s Citizen Safety Office, stated, “Despite prior announcements of tailored crackdowns by period, we intend to take strict measures according to law and principles against crimes that infringe on citizens’ lives.”
