During the winter closure, Hamyang Daebongsan Recreation Valley completed thorough preparations to enhance tourist safety and satisfaction by conducting comprehensive safety inspections of all facilities, including reinforcement of structures and ground inspections of slope sections around the tracks for safe operation in 2023.
In particular, starting this year, the ticketing system has changed to expand online reservations to 70% (381 seats) and on-site sales to 30% (161 seats), allowing ticket bookings through the Hamyang Daebongsan Recreation Valley website. Additionally, with the adjustment to 70% online reservations, group bookings of 20 or more people are only possible online.
Hamyang Daebongsan Recreation Valley includes Daebong Skyland and Daebong Campingland, and since its opening in April 2021, it has welcomed 430,000 visitors, generated cumulative revenue of approximately 3.7 billion KRW, and created over 50 direct jobs. It has established itself as a landmark representing Hamyang and a role model for mountain healing tourism, attracting many local governments to benchmark its success.
A representative of the recreation valley stated, “In 2023, we will prioritize visitor safety above all and do our best to establish ourselves as a healing recreation facility representing not only Hamyang but also South Korea.”
