It was revealed that the feedwater pump of Hanul Nuclear Power Plant Unit 5, which was operating normally, stopped, causing the reactor output to decrease.
Hanul Nuclear Power Headquarters of Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (Head: Park Beom-su) announced on the 1st that at around 9:11 PM on February 28, the reactor output of Hanul Unit 5 (Pressurized Water Reactor type, 1 million kW class), which was operating normally, decreased to 30% due to the stoppage of the feedwater booster pump.
The feedwater booster pump sends feedwater to the nuclear power plant's steam generator.
When two pumps stopped during normal operation, Hanul Unit 5 immediately started the standby pump and has been increasing the reactor output since 10:42 PM on the same day, and it is expected to reach normal output around 11 PM on March 1.
