Lunit Attends 'Biohealth New Market Creation Strategy Meeting' Hosted by the President

Demonstration of Medical AI for Breast Cancer Detection

Medical AI company Lunit announced on the 28th that it attended the 'Biohealth New Market Creation Strategy Meeting' held at the Blue House State Guest House, presided over by President Yoon Suk-yeol, where it demonstrated its AI mammography image analysis solution, 'Lunit Insight MMG.'


This strategy meeting was organized to explore strategic measures for creating new markets in biohealth. President Yoon toured the product demonstration booths of biohealth companies, listened to on-site feedback, and then proceeded with the main meeting.

The meeting was attended by senior government officials including President Yoon, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance Choo Kyung-ho, Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Lee Chang-yang, Minister of Health and Welfare Cho Kyu-hong, Minister of SMEs and Startups Lee Young, Minister of Science and ICT Lee Jong-ho, Vice Minister of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety Han Chang-seop, Chief Economic Secretary to the President Choi Sang-mok, and Chief Social Secretary to the President Ahn Sang-hoon.


Among domestic biohealth companies, a total of six companies participated, including Lunit, SK Biopharm, Seven Point One, Linkverse, VNTC, and medical robot company Curexo. Lunit CEO Seo Beom-seok met with President Yoon and demonstrated 'Lunit Insight MMG.'


Lunit Insight MMG is a product that assists medical professionals in diagnosis by detecting breast cancer in mammography with 97% accuracy. Lunit recently exported Lunit Insight MMG to the Dubai Health Authority (DAHC) in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Additionally, at the end of last year, Lunit exclusively secured the operation rights for the 'Breast Screening Program (BSNSW)' of the New South Wales (NSW) government in Australia, which gained attention as the world's first application of AI in a national cancer screening program.


CEO Seo said, "It was meaningful for Lunit to represent domestic biohealth companies and attend the new market creation strategy meeting presided over by President Yoon Suk-yeol. The government's interest and strong support for the biohealth industry demonstrated at this strategy meeting will greatly help expand Korea's advanced medical AI technology, recognized globally, to a wider range of countries."
