The Ipam Seonbawi Scholarship Foundation in Yeongyang-gun, Gyeongbuk, held the 29th Seonbawi Scholarship Foundation General Meeting on February 28 and awarded scholarships to three university students (1 million KRW each) and two high school students (500,000 KRW each).
Ipam-myeon Seonbawi Scholarship Foundation discovers talented students from challenging family backgrounds and awards them scholarships.
The Ipam Seonbawi Scholarship Foundation was established in 1993 by then Ipam-myeon chief Lee Yeohyeong through small donations from the residents of Ipam-myeon. For 29 years, from 1993 to this year, it has awarded a total of 73.7 million KRW in scholarships to 149 elementary, middle, high school, and university students who have excellent academic records or face difficult living conditions.
Lee Sangyong, president of the Seonbawi Scholarship Foundation, stated, “We will continue to nurture talents in Ipam and identify students from challenging family environments to provide ongoing scholarships. We ask for the cooperation of many local residents and members so that the purely established Ipam Seonbawi Scholarship Foundation can continue.”
