The movie 'Hero,' depicting the Harbin incident of patriot Ahn Jung-geun, is coming to home screens.
On the 28th, CJ ENM announced that 'Hero' (directed by Yoon Je-kyun) will begin simultaneous VOD service with its theatrical release on IPTV (KT Olleh TV, SK Btv, LG U+ TV), digital cable TV (Home Choice), TVING, Naver Series On, Wavve, Google Play, Apple TV, and more.
The film portrays the unforgettable final year of Ahn Jung-geun, from the time he prepared for the assassination of Ito Hirobumi in Harbin in October 1909, to his execution following a death sentence by the Japanese court. It is a film adaptation of the original musical 'Hero,' which was released on December 21 last year and recorded a cumulative audience of 3,246,853.
Actor Jung Sung-hwa plays Ahn Jung-geun, with Kim Go-eun, Bae Jung-nam, Park Jin-joo, and Lee Hyun-woo also starring. Director Yoon Je-kyun, who directed the blockbuster films 'Haeundae' (2009) with 11.32 million viewers and 'Ode to My Father' (2014) with 14.26 million viewers, is at the helm.
