The approved items are ▲1% Lidocaine Hydrochloride Injection 5mL ampoule ▲1% Lidocaine Hydrochloride Injection 5mL vial. These items had already obtained the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) drug approval (ANDA) in April 2018 and May 2020, respectively.

Through this approval in Canada, Huons plans to further strengthen its competitiveness in the North American market. The products will be distributed through the large-scale distribution network of Canada's FPI. Additionally, since the registered lidocaine injections have been basic pharmaceuticals experiencing chronic supply shortages in the North American region since the 2010s, Huons plans to contribute to stable supply management.

Huons intends to expand its product lineup targeting the Canadian market, starting with an initial order supply of 70,000 vials in the second quarter of this year.

A Huons representative stated, "We expect our position in the North American basic injection market to be further strengthened," adding, "Last year, the export of four products including lidocaine local anesthetics approved by the U.S. FDA's ANDA recorded sales of approximately 12.3 billion KRW, a 69% increase compared to the previous year."

Meanwhile, Huons signed a local anesthetic supply contract with Canada's FPI in May last year.
