Jeju Western Fire Station (Chief Kim Young-ho) and Mir Electric Co., Ltd. (CEO Kim Mi-hyung) announced on the 27th that they will distribute automatic fire-extinguishing power strips to households vulnerable to fire within the jurisdiction of the Western Fire Station to prevent electrical fires.
This collaboration aims to reduce casualties and property damage caused by fires and expand local safety infrastructure by distributing automatic fire-extinguishing power strips to fire-vulnerable households such as the hearing impaired and elderly living alone within the Western Fire Station's jurisdiction.

In addition to distributing automatic fire-extinguishing power strips to 200 fire-vulnerable households in Aewol-eup to prevent electrical fires, fire initial response training is being conducted for residents of vulnerable households.
Along with safety education for residents, including precautions when using electrical appliances, the 2023 resident participation budget project for the distribution of residential fire safety facilities will also be promoted concurrently.
Chief Kim Young-ho stated, “An analysis of winter fire occurrences over the past five years shows that residential facilities account for the highest proportion of fire locations at 22.6%, and the causes of fires rank as negligence (48.4%) followed by electrical factors at 23.8%, which is the second highest.”
He added, “We expect that distributing automatic fire-extinguishing power strips will greatly help eliminate safety blind spots such as electrical fire prevention in fire-vulnerable households.”
CEO Kim Mi-hyung said, “We will contribute to making Jeju safer through continuous support for community-linked social contribution activities.”
