Namwon City in Jeonbuk announced on the 27th that it has secured a budget of 60 million KRW after being selected for the social economy public-private collaboration system establishment project for three consecutive years.

The "Social Economy Public-Private Collaboration System Establishment Project," hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, is a project that creates a foundation for revitalizing the local social economy through public-private collaboration centered on local governments, including raising awareness, expanding sales channels, and financial support. A total of 37 local governments nationwide were selected for the collaboration system establishment project.

Over the past two years, the city has implemented the "On (溫) Namwon Social Economy Sale Festa" to expand sales channels for social economy enterprises, strengthening online marketing and donating profits to vulnerable groups, thereby creating a model for realizing community values and mutual growth.

For this public contest project, the city proposed the "On (溫) Namwon Social Economy Together Value UP!" project to build a network for mutual growth among social economy enterprises in the region and to strengthen capabilities for realizing social value.

Detailed projects include crowdfunding support, live commerce, Social Value Implementation Indicator (SVI) consulting, and the Namwon Social Economy Network Workshop.

In particular, the "Crowdfunding Support Project" for social economy enterprises is expected to achieve good results in both market validation and online sales channel expansion for excellent items developed using local resources.

Additionally, the social value indicator consulting is anticipated to help Namwon’s social economy enterprises actively engage in contribution activities through various local networks.

Mayor Choi Kyung-sik stated, "As the economic downturn prolongs, the role of the social economy in solving local problems and creating quality jobs for vulnerable groups is becoming increasingly important," adding, "We will secure competitiveness unique to Namwon’s social economy through active public-private collaboration."
