Establishment and Activities of Children's Traffic Safety Measures
The Gyeongnam Provincial Police Agency will implement traffic safety measures and special activities from March 2 to April 30 to prevent traffic accidents involving children.
On the 27th, the provincial police agency announced that it will collaborate with the Gyeongnam Autonomous Police Committee's "Safe School Commute Route Project from Home to School" to conduct traffic accident prevention, enforcement, facility inspections and improvements, and safety education promotions.

Together with traffic police, the Office of Education, and the Green Mothers' Association, they will guide children's pedestrian safety and manage traffic around school commute routes, including child protection zones, during school arrival and dismissal times.
During the vulnerable dismissal hours, visible enforcement will be strengthened against major traffic violations that threaten children's pedestrian safety.
Illegal parking and stopping that obstruct visibility will also be addressed through guidance and enforcement in cooperation with local governments.
Traffic safety facilities and unmanned enforcement equipment around 839 child protection zones in the province will be inspected, and aged or damaged facilities will be reinforced and improved.
Considering each school's attendance schedule, a traffic safety campaign will be conducted on the way to school, along with visits to schools for traffic safety education and promotional activities.
Chief Kim Byung-su stated, "Road Traffic Act and other regulations are being strengthened to protect children," and added, "We hope residents will take an interest and participate in the comprehensive child traffic safety measures so that a child-centered traffic culture can be established quickly."
