Millie’s Library is hosting the “Strange and Eerie Story Contest” in collaboration with the comprehensive publisher ‘Sam & Parkers,’ focusing on tales of the strange and ghost stories. Short story manuscripts and synopses on the theme of horror can be submitted via email until April 2.
The awards include ▲1 Grand Prize ▲4 Excellence Awards ▲Popularity Award (hereafter ‘Millie Pick’). The total prize money amounts to 10 million KRW, with 2 million KRW for the Grand Prize, 1.5 million KRW for the Excellence Awards, and 2 million KRW for the Millie Pick.
Judging will be conducted in two rounds, combining evaluations from experts and Millie’s Library subscribers. The final winners will be announced on May 16. For the Grand Prize and the five Excellence Award winners, Sam & Parkers will support the publication of e-books, print books, and audiobooks. For the Millie Pick winners, Millie’s Library will provide mentoring to continue producing diverse reading content. Through this, Millie’s Library plans to introduce unique formats beyond e-books, such as audiobooks, audio dramas, and docent books.
Kim Tae-hyung, Head of Content Business at Millie’s Library, stated, “Through this contest, we aim to broadly recruit talented creators ranging from aspiring writers to established authors to develop original content that can only be experienced at Millie’s Library. We also plan to continuously hold programs like contests to discover excellent writers and strengthen content competitiveness.”
