Yeongyang-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, held the 2nd Strategic Budget Securing Meeting for National and Provincial Funds for 2024 on February 27 at the county office's main conference room, with the county governor and heads of departments and divisions in attendance, officially entering the full-scale system for securing national and provincial funds.
This meeting focused on discussing the progress and future plans for securing national budgets for a total of 58 projects worth 547.3 billion KRW, including the projects reported in the 1st meeting on December 8 last year and additional newly discovered projects.
The major new projects include 28 items such as the establishment of a fruit-specialized production complex, the Chilseong Byeolcheonji Family Camping Site project, and the maintenance project for the Wonri Natural Disaster Risk Improvement District,
while ongoing projects include 30 items such as the National Road No. 31 (Ipam to Yeongyang) two-lane alignment improvement construction, Yeongyang Night Sky Clean Eco Village project, Yeongyang Public Library construction project, rural vulnerable area living condition improvement project, rural new vitality plus project, maintenance of the natural disaster risk improvement districts in Singgu and Gagok areas, Babadeul residential complex foundation project, and Dongburi rural space maintenance project, with plans to continuously request annual project funds.
Additionally, the county plans to focus its administrative capabilities on continuously proposing national projects such as the Yeongyang County Correctional Facility construction project and discovering new projects that serve as new growth engines for regional development.
Governor Oh Do-chang stated, “Not only the projects discussed at this meeting but also continuously discovering new projects, establishing and supplementing execution plans for each project, and meticulously developing response strategies, we will concentrate the capabilities of all public officials on advancing local issues and do our best to secure national funds.”
