On the 24th, Toyota Motor Korea held the preliminary awards ceremony for the "16th Toyota Dream Car Art Contest" at Pie Factory in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, the company announced on the 27th. A total of 3,257 entries were submitted for this competition, marking the highest number ever.
The "Toyota Dream Car Art Contest" is a global project conducted for children worldwide. It is an art competition where children express their imagined "dream cars" through drawings. Since last year, in addition to hand-drawn pictures, digital works using computer graphics (CG) have also been included, allowing children to showcase their creativity in more diverse ways.
The submitted works were evaluated in three age categories: under 8 years old, 8 to 11 years old, and 12 to 15 years old. The evaluation criteria consisted of three items: message delivery, originality, and artistry.
At the awards ceremony, a total of 58 works were recognized, including 9 works selected as gold, silver, and bronze prize winners in each category, as well as 49 honorable mentions. The works selected for gold, silver, and bronze prizes in each category will automatically advance to the global finals, the "World Contest," held in March.
The ceremony was attended by Manabu Konyama, CEO of Toyota Motor Korea, and Professor Lee Geun from Hongik University, who participated as a judge. In addition to the awards ceremony, various events such as making pet plants and magic shows were also held.
Manabu Konyama, CEO of Toyota Motor Korea, said, "Through the contest, we were able to see various dreams about the future in the drawings you showed us. We will do our best to spread a valuable car culture with diverse dreams and lifestyles."
