AI and Eco-Friendly Features Enhanced in This Year's New Products
Washing Machines Reduce Microplastic Emissions
Samsung Electronics will launch new 'Bespoke Grande AI' washing machines and dryers with enhanced eco-friendly and artificial intelligence (AI) features on the 27th. The new washing machine model is characterized by its Bubble Wash function that reduces microplastic emissions from clothing. This is the first case introduced in Korea.
The Bespoke Grande AI washing machines and dryers provide a convenient clothing care experience during washing and drying processes with upgraded AI functions. The new washing machine model has upgraded the existing automatic detergent dispenser to an 'AI automatic detergent dispenser' function. It adjusts the amount of detergent by learning not only the weight of the laundry but also the contamination level of recently washed clothes. This reduces detergent waste and environmental pollution.
The newly installed 'detergent barcode scan' function and selectable detergent drawer allow the optimal amount of detergent to be used for each detergent type. The detergent barcode scan function automatically dispenses detergent according to the recommended amount set for each detergent when the detergent or softener barcode is scanned and registered in the SmartThings app. The selectable detergent drawer can be switched according to user needs among softener, neutral detergent, baby detergent, and regular detergent.
The Bespoke Grande AI washing machine also supports the 'Microplastic Reduction Course' developed in collaboration with the eco-friendly outdoor brand Patagonia. This is the first case introduced in the domestic market. This course reduces microplastic emissions larger than 10 micrometers (㎛) from clothing by up to 60% during washing using Samsung's Bubble Wash technology. The rich foam made by dissolving detergent penetrates the fabric to remove contaminants. It also prevents fabric damage.
The new dryer model has improved the 'AI Customized Drying' function. Sensors detect the laundry weight and drying speed, and optimize control specifications for each load to reduce energy consumption and drying time. It also offers the 'AI Space Dehumidification' function to support optimal humidity suitable for the laundry room temperature. The inlet size has been expanded vertically and horizontally to make it easier to put in and take out bulky laundry such as blankets.

All new Bespoke Grande AI washing machines and dryers have an energy consumption efficiency rating of Grade 1. In particular, the 25kg capacity washing machine has 20% higher energy efficiency than the Grade 1 standard. When used together with the 'AI Saving Mode' in the SmartThings Energy service, the washing machine can save up to 60% energy, and the dryer up to 35%.
The Bespoke Grande AI washing machines and dryers come in a total of seven colors, including new colors such as Satin Sage Green and Satin Black. From the dial to the front frame, a single color is unified to give a luxurious feel. The capacity is 25kg for the Bespoke Grande AI washing machine and 20kg for the dryer. The retail price for the highest specification is 1,949,000 KRW for the washing machine and 2,049,000 KRW for the dryer.
