"on the street" is a lo-fi hip-hop track featuring an easy-to-listen melody and warm lyrics, with J-Hope participating in the songwriting and composition of the new song.
The title "on the street," which contains the artist's dream that began on the street, also carries the complex meaning of the "path to walk together" with fans worldwide. In this song, J-Hope uses the street as a motif where various situations such as meetings, dreams, and memories unfold.
The day before, J-Hope revealed his enlistment plan by canceling his military enlistment postponement application. He is the second member in the group to announce enlistment, following the eldest member Jin.
