The city of Suwon in Gyeonggi Province is collaborating with hospitals, psychological treatment centers, and optical shops to support eye and dental treatments, eyeglass purchase costs, and psychological testing and therapy for children under Suwon's Dream Start program.
On the 27th, Suwon City announced that from the 20th to the 24th, it signed a "Support Agreement for Testing and Treatment Costs for Dream Start Children" with 10 local institutions including ophthalmology clinics, dental clinics, optical shops, and psychological treatment centers.
Under this agreement, when a Dream Start integrated case manager refers a child requiring medical intervention to a partner institution, the institution will conduct examinations and treatments for the child.
The participating institutions are ▲ Balgeun Miso Ophthalmology Clinic ▲ Davichi Optical Buk Suwon Homeplus Branch ▲ Kkumkkuneun Pediatric Dental Clinic ▲ Angel Eye Dental Clinic ▲ Yonsei Well Kids Dental Clinic Suwon Gwanggyo Branch ▲ Kids Well Dental Clinic ▲ Beodne Child Development Center ▲ Seosuwon Child Development Center ▲ Haemalgeun Mental Health Clinic ▲ Happy Our Neighborhood Clinic.
It is expected that about 300 children will receive support through this agreement. Suwon City plans to expand partner institutions so that Dream Start children can receive various medical supports.
Started in 2009, the Suwon Dream Start project provides customized integrated services in health, welfare, and childcare areas to children under 12 years old and their families from vulnerable households (recipients of public assistance, near-poverty class, single-parent families, etc.).
Currently, three Dream Start centers (Uman, Seryu, Yeonghwa) are in operation.
