On the 25th, Nagoya TV and other Japanese media reported that real drugs were found at a takoyaki shop in Japan, which had gained popularity as the "addictive takoyaki."
According to the report, Masamichi Shimazu (29), the owner of the takoyaki shop in Nagoya, was arrested by local police on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act.
Earlier, the police arrested a person identified as A in the city for possessing 0.7g of cocaine on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act. After detecting circumstances of cocaine sales, the police conducted a stakeout investigation and discovered that cocaine was supplied to them from a popular takoyaki restaurant.
Shimazu and others at the takoyaki shop had been conducting transactions by packaging cocaine along with takoyaki when customers ordered takoyaki and spoke a "secret code."
Up to six people, including members of the yakuza, are known to be involved with the takoyaki shop.
Meanwhile, in September last year, it was revealed that a dessert that had gained a reputation as "brownies that make you feel good just by eating" near a university in Bolivia contained drug ingredients, causing controversy.
Illegal substances, specifically recreational marijuana, were detected in jelly, brownies, and chocolate promoted by the shop owner on social media with phrases like "It makes you happy" and "Made with a magical recipe."
The shop owner explained that the reason for committing such a bold crime was "to buy concert tickets."
