[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] Jung Hoseok, known as J-Hope of the group BTS (Bangtan Sonyeondan), has canceled his enlistment deferral and is set to be the second member of the team to enlist.
On the 26th, the agency Big Hit Music announced that J-Hope has begun the procedures for military service.
Big Hit Music stated, "J-Hope has completed the application to cancel his enlistment deferral, and we will provide further updates regarding his military enlistment as soon as they are decided."
Once J-Hope enlists, he will be the second BTS member to do so, following the eldest member Jin (real name Kim Seokjin), who has been serving since December last year. Jin was the first BTS member to enlist as an active-duty soldier in the army and is currently fulfilling his military duties.
Big Hit Music also announced that the remaining BTS members will sequentially fulfill their military service obligations in due course.
