Gwanak-gu 'Eco-friendly Urban Garden' Plot Leasing

From February 27, 6 locations including Nakseongdae Garden, 1,030 plots available for lease

An eco-friendly urban garden producing safe agricultural products and preserving the environment through the ‘3-No Farming Method’

Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Junhee) will lease 6 eco-friendly urban gardens, which serve as spaces for producing safe agricultural products and fostering communication and sharing among neighbors and families, from February 27 to March 3.

Now in its 8th year, the Gwanak urban garden operates under the ‘3-No Farming Method,’ which prohibits the use of synthetic pesticides, chemical fertilizers, and chemical materials, preserving the environment while producing safe agricultural products, earning great support from residents.

The gardens available for lease this time include ▲Gang Gamchan Garden ▲Nakseongdae Garden ▲Seorim-dong 1 and 2 Gardens ▲Cheongryongsan Garden ▲Chunghyo Garden ▲Samsung-dong Gwanak Urban Agriculture Park, totaling 1,030 plots (approximately 10㎡ per plot).

Any Gwanak-gu resident or facility/organization located in Gwanak-gu can apply through the Gwanak-gu website.

Final lessees will be selected through a random computerized lottery, and the list of winners will be available on the district office website on March 7. Winners will also be notified individually via text message.

Successful applicants can cultivate their plots from March 24 until the end of November. The district will provide compost and hoes free of charge for the first time only, and agricultural tools such as water for irrigation, watering cans, shovels, and rakes will be available on-site at the gardens at all times.

A district official said, “We hope this eco-friendly urban garden experience in the city will provide an opportunity for neighbors and families to communicate,” and added, “We ask for your interest and participation in the ‘Eco-friendly Urban Garden,’ where you can grow food your family can safely eat.”
