Gyeonggi-do Adds 7 Hospitals Supporting Medical Expenses for Diligent Taxpayers

The number of medical institutions in Gyeonggi Province offering benefits such as medical expense discounts to diligent taxpayers will expand from 20 hospitals in 18 cities and counties to 27 hospitals in 21 cities and counties.

On the 26th, Gyeonggi Province announced that it has additionally signed business agreements on medical expense support with seven medical institutions in the province, including Siheung Sincheon Union Hospital, to expand practical support for diligent taxpayers.

The province selects diligent taxpayers as those who have no arrears as of January 1 each year and have paid four or more local taxes annually on time for the past seven years, aiming to establish a sound tax culture and promote the awareness of diligent tax payment among residents.

The province provides diligent taxpayers with benefits such as medical expense discounts at contracted medical institutions and preferential interest rates at Gyeonggi Province’s treasury.

The additional agreements signed this time were mainly focused on cities and counties where there were no previously contracted medical institutions.

Newly added contracted medical institutions include Sincheon Union Hospital and Central Hospital located in Siheung City; Mediin Hospital in Paju City; Chamjoeun Hospital in Gwangju City; Gwangmyeong Seongae Hospital and Chung-Ang University Gwangmyeong Hospital Soha Screening Center in Gwangmyeong City; and Anseong St. Mary’s Hospital in Anseong City.

Residents selected as diligent taxpayers after 2023 will receive comprehensive health checkup discounts ranging from a minimum of 10% to a maximum of 30% at these hospitals. Additionally, depending on the agreement details of each institution, they will receive various benefits such as discounts on non-covered medical expenses and various vaccination fees.

Choi Won-sam, Director of the Taxation Division of the province, expressed gratitude to the hospital officials who cooperated with the Gyeonggi provincial government through this agreement and stated, "Going forward, Gyeonggi Province will continue to discover various support and benefits to ensure that a society where diligent taxpayers are favored can be established."

Meanwhile, the province will complete the selection of diligent taxpayers for 2022 within this month.
