On the afternoon of the 25th, Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon District, attended the 'Nowon United FC Home Opening Match (Nowon United vs. Sejong Varnes)' held at Madeul Sports Town Soccer Stadium.
Nowon United, which relocated its base to Nowon District in 2009, has established itself as the representative soccer team of Nowon and currently participates in the K4 League.
The opening match proceeded in the following order: introduction of guests, congratulatory speeches, introduction of referees and players, presentation of appreciation plaques and club scarves, official ball presentation, entrance of players and referees, encouragement of the players, commemorative photo session, kickoff, and the main match (Nowon United vs. Sejong Varnes).
Mayor Oh Seung-rok said, "I hope to see good matches this season without any injuries," and added, "Together with 500,000 residents, we will support Nowon United to grow beyond the K4 League and achieve promotion to the K League, becoming the representative club of Northeast Seoul."
