Diverse Experience Programs Including Boarding Cruise Passenger Ships and Yachts
At Hupo Port in Uljin-gun, Gyeongbuk, the 2023 Uljin Snow Crab and Red Snow Crab Festival is in full swing, where visitors can enjoy tasting Uljin snow crabs and red snow crabs against the backdrop of the pristine East Sea and participate in various experiential events.
Starting on the 23rd and running until the 26th, this festival features a variety of programs including an opening ceremony celebration performance, Wolsong large rope tug-of-war, snow crab singing contest, and barehanded live fish catching experience.
There is also a snow crab auction experience event where tourists can purchase snow crabs at low prices. The quantity of snow crabs available for auction has been significantly increased compared to previous years, providing more tourists the opportunity to enjoy snow crabs affordably.
In particular, this festival attracted attention by offering a unique experience of boarding a large cruise passenger ship traveling between Hupo and Ulleungdo, and a free yacht boarding experience where tourists can sail from Hupo Port and tour the blue East Sea in front of Deunggi Mountain Skywalk, which received great responses from visitors.
Additionally, various programs to entertain tourists have been prepared, including a red snow crab prize event, a snow crab cooking class with a radio chef, and participation in the giant rope tug-of-war event.
County Governor Son Byung-bok said, “Instead of large-scale events, we focused on allowing tourists to enjoy snow crabs at more affordable prices,” adding, “During the remaining period, we will prioritize the safety of tourists and do our best to conclude the festival happily.”
