Government Provides $100,000 Humanitarian Aid to Chile for Wildfire Damage

Providing $100,000 in Humanitarian Aid

The government announced that it will provide humanitarian aid worth $100,000 (approximately 130 million KRW) to Chile, where a large-scale wildfire has caused numerous casualties and property damage.


On the 24th, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated, "We hope this support will help stabilize the lives of the Chilean people affected by the wildfire and assist in the recovery of the damaged areas." It added, "We will continue to provide humanitarian aid to countries and people affected by natural disasters."


In Chile, a large wildfire that started around the 3rd in the central-southern region has caused extensive damage. According to the Chilean Forest Corporation (CONAF) as of the 15th, an area equivalent to 8.5 times the size of Seoul has been affected, with 24 people dead and 6,855 displaced.
