Hanjin Wins 'Happiness Plus Social Contribution Campaign' Award for 2 Consecutive Years

Hanjin announced on the 24th that it received the ‘Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Award in the Shared Value Creation category’ at the ‘13th Happiness Plus Social Contribution Campaign’ awards ceremony held at the Chosun Hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul.

Hanjin was recognized for its contributions to solving social issues through various social contribution activities that leverage the characteristics of delivery and logistics, such as the National Police Agency’s long-term missing children search ‘Hope Tape’ campaign, efforts to improve working conditions for delivery workers, and support activities for marginalized groups. Following last year’s receipt of the ‘Minister of the Interior and Safety Award in the Living Safety category,’ Hanjin earned the honor for two consecutive years.

Now in its 13th year, the ‘Happiness Plus Social Contribution Campaign’ is a social contribution event co-hosted by the Korea Association of Journalists and the Korea Employers Federation that awards outstanding companies exemplary in practicing social responsibility through shared value creation (CSV), eco-friendly initiatives, and win-win growth activities.

The activity recognized through this award was the launch of the agricultural, fishery, and livestock gift card ‘Naejipapsokseonmul’ (Gift in My Wallet), which was led by Cho Hyun-min, Hanjin’s President of Future Growth Strategy and Marketing. It is the first in the logistics industry to combine prepaid cards with delivery services by utilizing the parcel delivery network.

‘Naejipapsokseonmul,’ a Direct to Consumer (D2C) model that directly connects producers and consumers, promotes the consumption of excellent domestic agricultural, fishery, and livestock products and contributes to increasing the actual income of producers by reducing complex distribution stages through direct delivery of fresh seasonal products to consumers.

Currently, it operates in three types: ‘Naejipapsokgwail’ (Fruits in My Wallet), consisting of seasonal fruits; ‘Naejipapsokmokjang’ (Farm in My Wallet), consisting of livestock products; and ‘Naejipapsokbada’ (Sea in My Wallet), containing seafood products.

Going forward, Hanjin plans to continue activities that contribute to regional community development as a representative win-win model in the logistics industry by discovering local specialties through ‘Naejipapsokseonmul’ and supporting market expansion through agricultural, fishery, and livestock product marketing.

A Hanjin official stated, “Our company is recognized for contributing to alleviating logistics burdens and increasing income by promoting various activities to revitalize the local economy based on our delivery and logistics capabilities,” adding, “We will continue to fulfill our social responsibilities for coexistence and mutual growth with local communities to create a sustainable future.”
