Group tours available for 15 or more people, with desired course options
Gwangyang City in Jeollanam-do announced that starting from March, it will launch the "Gwangyang City Tour that Shines Day and Night," a tour traveling through every corner of Gwangyang with cultural tourism guides.
The city plans to operate diverse themed and seasonal courses, including a history course (Wednesdays), a night view course (Fridays), and on Saturdays and Sundays, courses linked to the Gwangyang Maehwa Festival and nearby local government fairs.

Additionally, groups of 15 or more who meet conditions such as visiting at least four tourist spots and having at least one meal within the city, and who make reservations at least seven days in advance, can enjoy a private tour on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays with their desired course.
The March city tour will operate the history course on Wednesdays, the night view course on Fridays, and a spring-specialized course on Saturdays and Sundays, with a special course reflecting the festival site during the Gwangyang Maehwa Festival period.
The history course allows boarding at Suncheon Station (10:10 AM) and Gwangyang-eup Terminal (10:45 AM). After touring the Jeonnam Provincial Museum of Art and Gwangyang Art Warehouse, participants enjoy lunch at the Gwangyang Bulgogi Specialty Street and immerse themselves in the romance of Inseori Park.
Next, the tour explores the Gwangyang History and Culture Center, Gwangyang Jangdo Museum, and Gwangyang Gungsi Training Center, then passes through Gwangyang-eup Terminal (5:05 PM) and arrives at Suncheon Station (5:40 PM).
The night view course boards at Suncheon Station (3:20 PM) and Gwangyang-eup Terminal (3:55 PM), tours the Jeonnam Provincial Museum of Art and Gwangyang Art Warehouse, and enjoys dinner at Gwangyang Bulgogi Specialty Street.
Then, participants enjoy the beautiful night views of Gubongsan Observatory, Yi Sun-sin Bridge, and Haeoreum Overpass, pass through Gwangyang-eup Terminal (9:25 PM), and conclude the schedule at Suncheon Station (10:00 PM).
The Saturday course boards at Suncheon Station (10:10 AM) and Gwangyang-eup Terminal (10:45 AM), visits the Jeonnam Provincial Museum of Art and Gwangyang Art Warehouse, and enjoys lunch at Bulgogi Specialty Street.
Then, the tour travels to Baegunsan Natural Recreation Forest, Gwangyang History and Culture Center, and Gubongsan Observatory, arriving at Gwangyang-eup Terminal (5:50 PM) and Suncheon Station (6:25 PM).
The Sunday course boards at Suncheon Station (10:10 AM) and Jungma Tourist Information Center (10:55 AM), tours Baealdo Island Garden, the preserved house of poet Yun Dong-ju by Jeong Byeong-wook, and Gwangyang Kim Si-sik Site, and enjoys lunch at Yi Sun-sin Bridge Food Town.
Then, the tour visits Yi Sun-sin Bridge, Haeoreum Overpass, and Gubongsan Observatory, arriving at Jungma Tourist Information Center (5:15 PM) and Suncheon Station (6:00 PM).
During the Gwangyang Maehwa Festival period (10th to 19th), on Saturdays and Sundays, boarding is available at Suncheon Station (3:20 PM) and Gwangyang-eup Terminal (3:55 PM). Participants enjoy dinner and the festival at Gwangyang Maehwa Village, then arrive at Gwangyang-eup Terminal (9:25 PM) and Suncheon Station (10:00 PM).
The usage fee is 5,000 KRW for general admission, 4,000 KRW for military personnel, seniors, and students, and 3,000 KRW for persons with disabilities and preschool children. Entrance fees, travel insurance, and meal costs are separate.

Jung Gu-young, head of the Tourism Division, said, "The 2023 Gwangyang City Tour is composed of diverse themes by day of the week and season, allowing visitors to choose and enjoy Gwangyang's charm according to their preferences. Groups of 15 or more can also enjoy private tours on designated days with their desired courses, which is expected to receive great response."
He added, "We will include weekend night view courses, the Gwangyang Maehwa Festival, and nearby local government fairs without omission to promote stay-type tourism and use it as a catalyst to attract tourists year-round and revitalize the region."
